I have to see if I can get a babysitter, but I don't think it will be a problem. Who do I send my info to? I don't want to post it here. I hope it is not hot. My little Mini doesn't like the heat.

We )the husband and I) really want to go! However, can we meet you at Edwards? As we are coming from Hemet, it would be easier for us to zip up there in one straight line rather than heading to sylmar and then over.

Let me know if that would be okay. Thanks.

Hi Guys and Gal!

Hi Peter, you can pm or send me an email from here or Madhatter at North American Motoring. Or if you still have the Italian Job booklet thing we handed out, my cell number is listed in that and you can call me with your info.

(Same applies to Robyn, and anyone else regarding personal information needed to be supplied to the Military to access the base.)

Robyn Meeting us out there it totally fine. We should arrive at the gate at about 9:45 ish

Best,

- Charlie

Charlie, I found an intresting book in our library,,, "Wings and Warriors" looks like some good reading.

Please make a note;
On arriving at Edwards,, There is a new Visitors Center right at the Main Gate from Rosamond, Orange Tower, it's the first Air Traffic Control tower used at Edwards. It's part of the Edwards Museum, Everyone needs to meet there first.

Yes what is given to Charlie goes straight to NASA & Edwards!

Peter, I might join you for breakfast - sounds like a plan, if I can swing leaving earlier.

Tom, you're a funny guy, book is familar to me. :)

Richard, glad you can make it.

Robyn, your imagination is vivid!

I told Charlie I would be going, but now I'm not certain due to a potential timing conflict with a customers car...although on the other hand because it's a morning event, I think I can probably make it as long as I get back before 4pm or so.

Ok, here are the questions:

1. How many MINI's are going? Or should I say who is going?
2.Can we have another meeting place?

And Jeanine gotta wear a lei if not a grassy skirt

Maybe we can have a second meeting point? Not trying to make things more complicated. I'm not certain I can drop my son off at school and still make the 8AM meeting in Sylmar. But I do realize that this is a long drive. Google Maps says that from my shop in Placentia to NASA it's 128 miles or 2 hours and 26 minutes...though from my house in Mar Vista it's actually closer-- just under 2 hours or 99 miles to the base.....hmm guess I'll be coming from my house--and will try to make the Sylmar location.

This is what I've read from the website ...

To All Visitors: When you arrive at a gate entering Edwards AFB, tell the guard your destination. You must have proof of insurance showing the effective date and expiration date, two forms of photo identification including a valid driver’s license with photo, and a current vehicle registration to gain access to Edwards AFB. If there are any problems, please call the NASA Public Affairs Office at (661) 276-3449.

"two forms of photo identification" ... Can I use my DL & my Costco card? Both have my pic in them

OOps ... I just realized that Charlie has update and "Urgent Info needed"

As long as your Name is on the list with the info they are requiring only one ID. Many things have changed to gain access to Edwards AFB and NASA. A person entering Edwards AFB must now also have a sponser on Base (Vendors ect,,,). This info your giving to Charlie is to gain access for the tour.

Jeanine,,,That is a loaded question
